Tomorrow I will add another candle to my birthday cake! 51 to be exact. On this birthday eve I've been reflecting on the past year. It went fast! I guess that I'm no longer middle aged but just maybe I am?! I'm hopeful anyway.
So far I'm finding my 50's to be a time of discovery and wisdom. I've also made good friends with acceptance. Acceptance of myself, others and situations. I look upon life with much more wonder than when I was younger.
I've become more settled and so appreciative of my life. I've grown in compassion for myself and others. I'm still learning of course. That'll never end.
There's been many hard things going on and lots of big shifts that I'm sure you're feeling in your own life. The whole planet is I suppose. Change will always be happening. We just buckle up and enjoy the ride as best we can.
This is a page from my Mary Englebreit page a day calendar which I just love. I plan to live that jammie life tomorrow, even if for a short time.
I look forward to the year ahead. I plan on dipping my toes into quilting in a small way to see if I'd like to try more. I also want to do more natural dyeing and just maybe spin my own sock yarn.
Oh, if you’re in need of a delicious chocolate cake recipe try the dark chocolate cake recipe on the Hershey's dark cocoa can. It's my favorite. My family bakes it in a 9x13 inch pan and then it gets chilled. That's a must for me. Serve it with a dusting of powdered sugar. Delicious! Maybe I'll even enjoy a slice while wearing my jammies!
Happy birthday, Dana! I hope you're having a wonderful day eating cake, reading and making things. I'm excited to hear all about the projects you tackle this year!
xoxo
Wishing you the very happiest of birthdays Dana filled with very special blessings! ♥
